The goal of the TTA award is to build capacity in person-centered, life-oriented research in aphasia.  Candidates should demonstrate how their work will have a direct impact on the lives of people with aphasia. Here are some examples of research topics from the 2019 awardees:

·      Using personal narratives to re-construct identity in aphasia

·      Quality and readability of English-language internet information for aphasia

·      Communicative accessibility in aphasia: An investigation of the interactional context of long-term care facilities

·      A multimodal intervention program to assist people with neurogenic communication disorders to successfully resolve communication breakdowns

·      Training compensatory strategies that support reading in people with aphasia
